This Strike Eagle awaits its turn to perform at the Wings Over Pittsburgh Airshow. The F-15E was design in the 1980’s by McDonnell Douglas as a long range interdiction fighter. The company envisaged the aircraft as a replacement for the F-111 Aardvark and F-4 Phantoms. Built with a sturdier airframe these F-15Es are expected to remain in service past 2025.
