Hickam Field, Hawaii

@ Honolulu, Hawaii

October 2013

This was my view of Hickam Field as we made our final approach to Honolulu International Airport.  One can easily spot one of the C-17 Globemaster III’s assigned to the 535th Airlift Squadron based at Hickam.  Next is a visiting Gulfstream GV parked outside of Hangar 17, but what really caught my eye in this photo were the TWO Hawker Hunters on the flight line.  These classic aircraft belong to ATAC, a company contracted to provide training for naval fleet exercises including Fleet threat simulation, target towing, and dedicated adversary training.

  1. Two Hunters! I didn’t realize ATAC were operating in Hawaii too. Must have been an interesting trip in a Hunter. Four drop tanks I guess to get you there.
